Challenges of eLearning in debate

The 1.st National Convention on eLearning takes place on May 6

Polytechnic of Porto (P.PORTO), through e-Learning and Pedagogical Innovation Unit (e-IPP), will hold on May 6th the 1st National Convention on Distance Education: Challenges of eLearning in Higher Education, whose program can be consulted here.

The challenge of eLearning (EaD) in Higher Education has emerged in an international context of promoting accessibility in education, especially oriented towards adult education.

The EaD mission is not only to promote a networked society but also to think about HE trough the globalization of the economics knowledge, in a increasing digital society. This web of "distance interactions" implies new approaches and strategies, based sharing experiences as a means of promoting pedagogical innovation.

At a time when the regulation of distance learning in higher education is being discussed, this convention aims to foster the debate on the Higher Education scene as well as the future of training mediated by digital technologies.

It is Polytechnic of Porto mission to promote pedagogical innovation and digital skills, to rethink traditional teaching standards, to manage change and to promote a culture of collaboration, sharing, networking, in permanent harmony with the advances in science and technology.
