ESS in the European Association of Nuclear Medicine Congress

The Nuclear Medicine course, frem ESS School of Health of P.PORTO, participated in the EANM'19 in Barcelona

Health is a constantly evolving field, particularly in the most challenging areas, such as Nuclear Medicine - a constantly evolving specialty due to its intrinsic technological nature in both diagnosis and therapy.

With the main objective of promoting dialogue between the different specialties, the Congress of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM) is the scene of important scientific discussions, continuous training and presentation of the latest technological developments in the industry and knowledge in the area.

The School of Health (ESS), through the Technical-Scientific Area (ATC) of Nuclear Medicine, made presence at the 32nd edition of the EANM, which this year was held in Barcelona.

ATC Coordinator of Nuclear Medicine Pedro Costa, teachers Domingos Vieira and Joana Lemos and several ESS graduates and alumni attended the congress, moderating sessions and contributing to the debate with the presentation of scientific papers.

EANM is the largest organization dedicated to nuclear medicine in Europe, considered to be the industry-leading reference organization to the European institutions and other international counterparts. The association postulates as its main objectives the optimization and development of science and education in nuclear medicine oriented to public health, constituting a platform for the dissemination and discussion of the latest results in the field of nuclear medicine.

In this sense it promotes and coordinates the mutual exchange of information and new knowledge related to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases through the use of non-harmful radioactive substances and stable nuclide properties in medicine. Presence and participation in the project is crucial for establishing new partnerships, which could be realized in the near future, and cementing relationships already created, but also an important moment of knowledge sharing.
