The National Access to Higher Education Contest begins today, a crucial moment for thousands of students who will decide a good part of their academic future.
The first phase of applications ends on August 7 and the second phase runs from 10 to 21 September.
Polytechnic of Porto offers 2895 access places this year, in 56 degrees, covering a diverse and extensive portfolio of knowledge areas. This number represents a decrease of 115 places compared to the previous year, due to the cut imposed by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education (MCTES) to all universities and polytechnics in Lisbon and Porto.
In the last National Access Contest, P.PORTO filled almost all of the vacancies available in the first phase (99.6% of the 3010 vacancies) and is currently the 4th largest Institution of Higher Education in the ranking of the percentage of vacancy occupancy in the first stage.
We recall that the application to Public Higher Education is, as in recent years, carried out through the online system available on the website of the Directorate General of Higher Education (DGES).
Holders of national or foreign secondary education with valid entrance exams can apply through the national competition for access to higher education, and the entrance exams, national or foreign, vary from course to course.
Politécnico do Porto holds an Office for Access to Higher Education, which provides specialized support to applications for the National Access Competition.
