2nd edition of the Knowledge Train

On 28 June, the 2nd edition of the Train of Knowledge started, an initiative promoted by the Government of Portugal

The second edition of the Knowledge Train was launched on June 28, targeted to HEI, rewarding the achievement of new students in higher education.

The Train of Knowledge aims to stimulate the acquisition of skills, combined with academic success, and promote experiences of knowledge of the territory for students who from the 1st to the 2nd years in Higher Education Institutions.

The numbers of the first edition of the Knowledge Train show the success of the initiative: more than 15,000 students joined the initiative; exploring 29,000 routes through the CP network; and enjoying more than 10,000 overnight stays in Youth Hostels managed by Movijovem.

Students enrolled in higher education (Professional Technical Courses, Undergraduate or Integrated Master's Degree) who have achieved academic success  in the 1st year of the cycle with at least 36 ECTS, during the academic year 2018/2019, may benefit from the following services:

• Seven consecutive days (2nd class), regional, interregional and urban services, for use by the end of 2019 in the CP network;

• Discounts on Youth Hostels run by Movijovem: six nights accommodation in a multiple room, with breakfast included, for the overall price of € 50;

• Offering the EYC Young Card (in digital format), by request online. 

The Knowledge Train is part of the "Learn More and Precisely" program and is an initiative promoted by the Government of Portugal, through the government's areas of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Planning, Education and Economy, counting on the partnership of CP - Comboios de Portugal, the General Directorate of Higher Education, Higher Education Institutions, the Student Associative Movement, Ciência Viva - National Agency for Scientific and Technological Culture, Movijovem, Turismo de Portugal and Globestamp.
