Develop the academic formation through experiences in work context, to value the curriculum or to discover new vocations are some of the opportunities that the Summer Internship Program P.PORTO guarantees to the student community of the Polytechnic of Porto.
This is an initiative of the Presidency that involves a network of 166 companies invited to host, during a maximum period of three months, a trainee with the P.PORTO DNA.
Companies and public entities such as Farfetch, Decathlon, Salvador Caetano Group, Wells, Porto Hotel Yeatman or Hospital Lusíada reply positively to this challenge and opened a wide range of internship opportunities that comprise almost all of the institution's educational portfolio.
According to the President Paulo Santos, who is responsible for the relationship with the student community, "this initiative fulfills one of the main missions of the current Presidency: guaranteeing an applied training in a work context that prepares students for the reality of the labor market" "Paulo Santos highlights the program as an opportunity for students to" challenge themselves during the summer, put their academic training into practice, while gaining experience in the real context of an organization, "stressing as an internship with these characteristics not only they add professional experience to the curriculum, giving them the right to be referred to in the Diploma Supplement, as it can expedite their insertion into working life more quickly. "We are convinced that this is an exemplary opportunity for a student to become familiar with the characteristics of an organization, to define vocations and also - why not - to find new vocations".
Bringing the Institution closer to the business community is a very present dynamic in P.PORTO mission, with the aim of promoting innovation and entrepreneurship at the service of the community and thus contribute to economic and social progress. The internships run during the months of June and September and last for a minimum of one month (140 hours) and a maximum of three months (420 hours). The applications run until June 16.
