The annual conference of FAUBAI 2019 (Brazilian Association of International Education), is the most important meeting on internationalization in higher education in Brazil and one of the most important in all Latin America.

This event brings together representatives of Brazilian higher education institutions and foreign organizations as well, as members of international agencies and government and business organizations.

In addition to the plenary sessions, under the theme of Global Social Commitment, FAUBAI 2019 stimulated ten workshops and 33 parallel sessions, in a total of 100 thematic presentations, scientific works and experiences of cooperation.

Carlos Ramos, professor and project coordinator of Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP), organized one of the workshops. The researcher and teacher presented the LAPASSION project, which involves five Federal Institutes of Brazil and aims to share examples of good pedagogical innovation practices used in Europe.

Rubipiara Cavalcante Fernandes, from the same institution, shared with the audience the exchange experiences with Brazilian institutions. She spoke of the double degree between ISEP and the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina in the Master of Electrical Engineering / Engineering Power Systems, valid in both Portugal and Brazil. "The content similarity is essential to achieve a project of this nature," she explained.

FAUBAI, or the Brazilian Association for International Education, founded in 1988, brings together managers and other responsible parties for international affairs and promotes the integration and training of area managers through seminars, workshops, and regional and national meetings. In addition, FAUBAI also discloses the diversity and potential of Brazilian HEI´s together with funding agencies, diplomatic missions, and international programs and organizations.

FAUBAI aims to promote the improvement of exchange programs and international cooperation as a means to improve the teaching, research, extension, and administration of affiliated institutions, seeking to stimulate the continuous improvement of the management of international exchange and cooperation.
