Given the evolution and diversification of Pharmacy Care, there is an urgent need for the training process of professionals working in these areas, to keep up with the new realities of practice. The skills and challenges faced by professionals in the field of Pharmacy, in an environment of notorious innovation, justify the need for a deepening and renewal of previously acquired knowledge. The Post-Graduation in ?Technological Innovation in Health: New Drugs, Health Products and Food Supplements? addresses the areas of research and development, namely, non-clinical development and pre-clinical and clinical trials. The course allows the recognition of the importance of the prophylactic and/or therapeutic use of biopharmaceuticals and food supplements as complements or supplements to a normal diet, as well as the main stages and methods of production of products of clinical and/or pharmaceutical interest. In this postgraduate course, it is intended to disseminate information on innovations and developments of new medicines, in parallel with the essential information for the proper use of medicine, health products, and food supplements at a level of specialization, autonomy, and complexity superior to that of a graduate of the 1st cycle, highlighting, additionally, the emerging areas of pharmacogenomics and nanotechnology. In view of the innovative and disruptive potential of the products, drugs and supplements addressed, regulatory and property protection issues are still conveniently portrayed. Indeed, the Post-Graduation in ?Technological Innovation in Health: New Drugs, Health Products and Food Supplements? is intended for professional specialization, aiming at approaching new therapeutic developments in the area of medicine, health products and supplements food, and providing the updating of knowledge of graduates in the area of Pharmacy and related areas. This training will be articulated with the Masters in Pharmacy, a specialization area in Pharmacotherapy and Pharmacoepidemiology, which is in operation at the Escola Superior de Saúde do Politécnico do Porto, with the possibility of crediting the Curricular Units attended in this postgraduate course, in that master.
