Diseases caused by disorders of metabolism are diverse. This post-graduate cycle aims to enable graduates with diverse and current tools in the field of in vitro, cellular and animal models as well as diagnostic technologies of clinical pathology and immunohistochemistry for the study of diseases in general, but of metabolism in particular.
This Postgraduate Program aims to enable graduates to:
- Intervene in several health sectors in the area of ??diagnosis and therapy associated with clinical and metabolic biochemistry;
- Know and know how to use experimental models (in vitro, cell phones and animals) for the development of therapeutic strategies and assessment of metabolic disorders;
- Recognize the importance of nutrition and intervene in the context of dietetics in diseases of metabolism.

The following may apply for access to the study cycle: a) Holders of a bachelor's degree or equivalent in courses in the areas of Health Technologies (Clinical Analysis and Public Health, Pathological Anatomy, Cytology and Thanatology, Audiology, Cardiopneumology, Dietetics, Pharmacy, Nuclear Medicine, Neurophysiology, Radiology, Radiotherapy, Environmental Health and the like), in the areas of Physical, Life and Health Sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Nutrition Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Genetics, Microbiology, Chemistry, and the like) and in the areas of Engineering Sciences (Environmental Engineering, Biological, Biomedical, Chemical and the like); b) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree, in the areas of health or similar areas, conferred following a 1st cycle of studies organized in accordance with the principles of Bologna by a State adhering to this Process; c) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree that is recognized as meeting the objectives of the degree in the areas mentioned in paragraph a) by the Technical-Scientific Council of the School; d) Holders of a school, scientific and professional curriculum, which is recognized as attesting the capacity to carry out this cycle of studies by the Technical-Scientific Council of the School.
