Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering concerns transforming energy into motion. It is present in the solution of all transportation problems, but also deals with new materials, industrial management, energy production and the construction of infrastructures, developing novel technological solutions to make organizations more competitive and increase human well-being.

 

  In recent years, the Mechanical Engineering degree finalists have presented studies on industrial production lines, heating systems and ventilation of factory buildings, cutting machines and telescopic conveyors for plastic parts, among other examples

  • The ISEP degree develops technical, scientific and cultural skills and knowledge for innovation and professional practice, according to level 6 of the National Qualifications Framework. Graduates can thus enter the labour market after three years and apply for admission to the Ordem dos Engenheiros (Portuguese Engineering Association) or to the Ordem dos Engenheiros Técnicos (Association of Technical Engineers).  ISEP graduates have a seat guaranteed in the respective Master's degree in the scholar year following the completion of the course.  The Mechanical Engineering graduates can find work at the level of: Design and maintenance of machines and equipment

  • Industrial quality
  • Environment and safety
  • Among other opportunities.  In recent years, ISEP graduates have begun their career in companies devoted to metalworking
