ATHENA x FabLab Workshop

Within the ATHENA project, the workshop "ATHENA x FabLab" is taking place from 23 to 25 November in Germany

Marisa Ferreira and Rafael Pedrosa, representing P.PORTO, participate in the ATHENA x FabLab Siegen work day, which aims to trace the realities of the several institutions present, regarding FabLabs, and from that basis organize several competences in order to promote a pan-European FabLab network.

It is intended that, through this network, it will be possible to share resources and good practices in the area of co-creation, in order not only to promote the development of knowledge, but also to increase the involvement of students in ATHENA's activities.

It is worth remembering that ATHENA European University is a transnational project led by the Polytechnic of Porto and planned to last three years. With a total budget of more than six million euros, it is expected to consolidate itself as a federation of universities by 2025 that, without losing its identity, benefits from common objectives. P.PORTO has as partners the Hellenic Mediterranean University (Greece), the University of Siegen (Germany), the University of Maribor (Slovenia), the University Niccolò Cusano (Italy), the University of Orléans (France) and the Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Lithuania) - which together house over 120 thousand students.

The ultimate goal is for ATHENA to become an inter-university campus around which students (from undergraduate to doctoral), staff, teachers and researchers can move seamlessly.
