P.PORTO’s internal forum

In May 2021, the Presidency of the Polytechnic of Porto and the Pedagogical Councils of Schools will hold the second edition of a forum dedicated to pedagogical training and innovation.

In a year marked by the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, with these very demanding times and with enormous future unpredictability, Higher Education Institutions faced enormous challenges. The Polytechnic of Porto was not an exception. In this context, it looked to ensure the quality of its education model, guided by the constant adaptation of teaching and research to the concerns of today’s society and the technical and scientific needs of the job market.

The time is right for the Presidency of P.PORTO and its Schools to rethink the pedagogical innovation and reflect on this growing concern, and thus ensuring an adequate preparation of teachers, as a way to contribute to the success of our students and to combat academic failure and dropout.

For this reason, the second edition of the 2021 P.PORTO’s Internal Forum, a joint initiative of the Presidency of the Polytechnic of Porto with the Pedagogical Councils of Schools, that focuses on the theme of Pedagogical Training and Innovation at P.PORTO: Challenges of the "New Normal".

It is intended that this will be an opportunity to listen, debate and reflect on this theme, that is a growing concern within and outside the P.PORTO universe- the pedagogical training of our teachers and the contributions to pedagogical innovation and digital competence, with the goal of learning the digital tools to support the teaching activity, as well as innovative projects and good practices, a debate about the relationship between teaching/learning and the research and learning about successful projects in entrepreneurship and knowledge transfer.

The event will take place on May 6 and 7, 2021. Proposals are to be submitted until March 26.

We invite the entire faculty to join this forum, either as participants in panels and round tables, through the presentation of communications or posters, or as listeners involved in the discussions.
