P.Artes hosts ESMAD's "All the Present" exhibition

The opening of the exhibition took place on 26 January and presented works by Master's degree students from the School of Media Arts and Design

The exhibition Todo o Presente of the artistic residence held in 2022, in Póvoa de Varzim was presented at P.Artes, in Praça do Marquês de Pombal, Porto. The students involved, Eduardo França, Felícia Oliveira, Rita Cortês and Simão de Abreu, attend the master's degree in Audiovisual Communication, specialisation in Photography and Documentary Film at Escola Superior de Media Artes e Design (ESMAD).

The works appeal to the urgency of sustainability and ecology, represented in different ways by each of the artists. Eduardo França, presented "Aqueduto 360", which reflects a critique of the deterioration of heritage today. "Para Sempre, Aqui Estou", by Felícia Oliveira, represents the passage of time through objects and abandoned houses in the city of Póvoa de Varzim. Simão de Abreu, through "Life with Net", portrayed the fishing activity, intrinsic to the city of Póvoa de Varzim. And "Waste from All of Us", developed by Rita Cortês, is a call for attention to the accumulation of debris and the risks for the environment.

At the presentation, Olívia Marques da Silva, President of ESMAD, praised P.Artes as the ideal space for a greater dissemination of the students' work in terms of photography, cinema, documentary or fiction. António Marques, Vice President of P.PORTO, also attended the opening and highlighted the mission of P.Artes as a response to the need to give visibility to the works developed by the P.PORTO community.

The exhibition is open until the 3rd of March, from Tuesday to Friday, from 14h30 to 17h30.
