As part of its ongoing collaboration with higher education institutions, Bosch has just launched a research and development (R&D) competition with a group of national academic institutions.
Polytechnic of Porto (through the Institute of Engineering of Porto - ISEP), the University of Minho, the University of Aveiro, the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado e Ave (IPCA), and the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (IPVC) are the institutions that will participate in this competition, which aims to develop new forms of applicability for Bosch XDK sensors.
The competition involves the delivery of XDK sensor development kits to institutions, students, teachers and researchers, with the aim of presenting “new horizons of applicability of these solutions in the most diverse areas and conditions.”
The work can be done individually, or as a group and is due by 13 December 2019. The work will be evaluated by Bosch experts in Germany where the initiative was launched. All participants will be able to publicly present their projects in Braga.
XDK sensors are versatile, programmable and universal devices equipped with the latest technology, capable of meeting the most varied needs of IoT (Internet of Things) applications.
The competition promoted by Bosch is part of an initiative of the IPCEI (Important Projects of Common European Interest), an entity of the European Commission for important projects of common European interest, which challenged the company to share its competences with various institutions in certain strategic countries, which includes Portugal.
Carlos Ribas, Bosch's representative in Portugal, stressed the importance of the relationship between the company and these entities: "Bosch has in its collaboration with higher education institutions a critical pillar in supporting its innovation activities.
