The seminar aims the knowledge transfer on the use of APIs for the persistence of local and remote data using the Web environment. In the seminar are initially detailed the local APIs, namely: the Web Storage API and the IndexedDB API. Then, will be a presentation of remote solutions like the use of BaaS (ex .: Firebase) and IoT solutions (ex .: Thingspeak).
The professor, Ricardo Queirós, holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP). He teaches at the School of Media Arts and Design (ESMAD), where he is responsible for disciplines in the field of computer programming. In parallel, he develops scientific activity in the field of Computer Science Education and in the interoperability between e-learning systems. He is also an effective member of the Center for Research in Advanced Computing Systems (CRACS), a research unit of the INESC-TEC Associate Laboratory, and has authored several scientific publications and several technical books on mobile application development.
