The Professional technical courses (Tesp) are a new range of higher education courses with a duration of 4 semesters (120 ECTS), including an internship of 1 semester (30 ECTS). Its completion gives a Higher Professional Technical Diploma with a qualification level of 5 on the National Qualifications Framework. At the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (P.PORTO), from the academic year 2017/2018 (inclusive). the application through the Special Competitions by DET and CTeSP holders is subject to proof of completion of the national secondary education exams corresponding to the entrance exams required to enter the study cycle in question, through the general regime of access and entry, and to obtain in those examinations a classification not inferior to the minimum classification fixed.

The national secondary education exams are exempted for applications through the Special Competitions holders of a diploma of professional higher technician, issued by the P.PORTO, that provides the entrance to the cycle of study of the degree of P.PORTO that are intended with partial credit of the training.

The Professional Technicians in Technology Management for Innovation will be the professionals who, independently or integrated into teams, will be responsible for designing, planning and supervising programs for the incorporation of Information and Communication Technologies into Products and Organizational Processes. Assuming a preponderant role in defining needs, negotiating with service providers and managing service level agreements. The senior technical professionals in technology management for innovation will be in the organizations the main ones in charge of the management of the technologies and information systems.

  • The Higher Professional Technical in Technology Management for Innovation is able to analyze the needs of information systems and technologies, to find the best solutions in the market, to reach the best agreements and to carry out an effective monitoring. The Higher Professional Technical will be able to manage technological projects and coordinate work teams, taking into account the following professional exits:
  • - Manager of Technologies and Information Systems
  • - Project Manager
  • - Help Desk Manager
  • - Responsible for purchasing technology solutions

Who can apply to this course:

a) Holders of a secondary education course or equivalent;

b) Students approved in the specially designed tests to assess the ability to attend higher education of those aged over 23, conducted for the course in question;

c) holders of a technological specialization diploma (DET), a professional high school diploma (DTeSP) or a higher education degree, who wish their retraining.
