The professional degree in Speech Therapy is obtained by training that responds to a certain broad spectrum profile (undergraduate degree), so there is often a need to deepen certain contents and / or to specialize in certain areas of knowledge and practice.

The present postgraduate course consists of 5 curricular units sequentially distributed over 20 consecutive weeks and aims to fill needs felt by professionals in the field in the field of Speech, namely in the areas of orofacial motricity, voice and verbal articulation, and at the same time deepen the training 1st cycle in Speech Therapy.

The areas related to Speech were selected because they fit into one of the lines of research under development by the technical-scientific area of ??Speech Therapy at ESS-IPP, as well as for participating in national and international projects being implemented. It is also intended to contribute to promote practices based on scientific evidence, as well as to explore new approaches and contexts of intervention.

It is anticipated the interaction between internal and external teachers from reference institutions in the formation of Speech Therapy and who have contributed to the development of the areas in question.

General objectives:

- Analyze the speech therapist's intervention practices in the areas of orofacial motricity, voice and speech in the light of recent scientific evidence;

- To sustain the speech therapist's intervention practices in the areas of orofacial motricity, voice and verbal articulation in the light of the intervention models centered on the person and the family.

The following can apply for access to study cycles: a) Holders of a national or foreign higher education degree in the field of speech therapy (or equivalent in their country), conferred following a 1st cycle of studies organized in accordance with the principles of Bologna (by a State adhering to this Process) ; b) Holders of a national or foreign higher academic degree that is recognized as meeting the objectives of a speech therapy degree by the Technical and Scientific Council of ESS; c) Holders of a scientific and professional curriculum in the field of speech therapy, which is recognized as attesting the ability to carry out this cycle of studies by the Technical-Scientific Council of ESS. d) Proven professional experience in the respective training area of at least 2 years (required for the Postgraduate Specialization Course in Analysis and Supervision in Professional Practices).
