A socially responsible campus

The Polytechnic of Porto takes on a campus vision that goes beyond what is traditionally associated with the structures and physical characteristics of space.

What the “Green Paper on Social Responsibility and Higher Education Institutions” calls a socially responsible campus addresses the integration of Social Responsibility concerns across the strategy and core matrix of HEI activities, including through the development of participatory policies, transparent, ethical, human rights promotion and social inclusion.

The issue of environmental sustainability is also of paramount importance. “An environmentally sustainable, safe and healthy campus” must incorporate environmental concerns (there is no planet B), promote health and safety in its educational and work project.
