Polytechnic of Porto is a reference institution of public higher education in Portugal. Beginning its activity in 1985, it is today the largest polytechnic institution in the country and one of the largest institutions of the national higher education network.
A community of about 22,000 people study teach research and work daily in the universe of the Polytechnic of Porto - in its three campuses, eight schools, in the Common Services and in the Social Action Services.
The relevance of the Polytechnic of Porto is not only affirmed by its dimension: it is also evident in the recognition and in the quality of its educational offer, in the number of national and international students, that attracts in a sustainable way over the years, the place it occupies in international rankings of scientific research, and in the articulation he has built with both regional economic and social fabric and with other national and international organizations of various spheres.
